Wilhelmina Baily was aged 38 and resident at Seymour Hill, Dunmurry, Antrim (Northern Ireland) when she commenced work as a nurse with the British Red Cross Society at the Military Hospital, York on 15th April 1916. She remained at the hospital until 1917, transferring to a Military Hospital in Italy on 26th November 1917. One month later on 26th December 1917 she was transferred to a Military Hospital at Salonika, Greece. It is not known when she transferred back to Italy but she was working at the 38th Stationary Hospital in Genoa when she was taken ill.
Wilhelmina Baily died on 23rd September 1918 and was buried in Staglieno Cemetery, Genoa, Grave I. B. 36.
