Roland Yeomans enlisted as a Private in the Machine Gun Corps on 6th December 1916 at Worcester.  On his attestation form he gave his address as 28 Rectory Road, Redditch, his age as 22 years 9 months, his occupation as Grinding and his next of kin as his father Walter Richard Yeomans of the same address.  Roland embarked at Folkestone on 11th April 1917, arriving at Boulogne, France the same day and the base depot on 12th April. He joined his unit in the field on 23rd April and was killed in action just over 6 weeks later on 9th June 1917.

Roland Yeomans has no known grave, the photograph available shows his name on the Ypres Menin Gate Memorial.
