The following information has been researched by Dave Pugh:
The 1911 Census shows that the Yapp family were living at Smethwick, Birmingham. Walter aged 15, was working as an errand boy. His father was working as a packer at a jam factory. There were also sisters Elsie 11, Gwendoline 8, and brother Reginald 6.
