Further Information About WOODYATT Edward George

Edward Woodyatt was baptised at St Peter’s Church, Martley on 3rd March 1889, the son of George and Francis (Fanny) Woodyatt, farmer of Horsham. In 1911 he was still living at Hosham with his parents. His sister Evelyn died in 1909. He married Ethel Caroline Grubb aged 32, in Tedstone Delamere, Herefordshire on 7th December 1915.

United Parish Magazine, St Peter’s Church, Martley, July 1917:
We regret to hear that George Woodyatt is reported missing and that this dated from some weeks ago. It is feared that he may be killed, as time has passed enough for news to have come round if he were a prisoner; we shall all sympathise with his parents and young wife in their anxiety.

Berrow’s Worcester Journal, 18th August 1917:
Missing
Horsham Parents’ Anxiety.
Included in the list of missing is the name of Pte. George Woodyatt, Worcestershire Regt., elder son of Mr and Mrs Woodyatt, Horsham. He has not been traced since the great fight in May. His parents would be grateful for information concerning him.
