Further Information About WINWOOD Albert Henry

Albert Winwood volunteered in 1915. He joined the Worcesters and was posted to the 2nd Battalion on the Western Front. This battalion was involved in much fighting during 1915 but by 1916 it was in a quiet sector near Bethune. However, those in the trenches always had to endure enemy shelling and of the two men of the battalion killed in April one was Private Albert Winwood. His name is also commemorated at the Methodist Church.
