Douglas Williams attended Worcester Royal Grammar School from 1906 to 1908.  The school magazine records that he passed the Intermediate Exam of the Law Society in 1910, passing his Law Society Finals in 1913.  He attended Sheffield University where he played for the University Hockey team.
