Christopher Whitehead was born on 4th January 1917. He entered Form M4, Kings School in October 1931 was a King’s scholar under School House. At the time of his admission to the school his parent is recorded as C.A.C.W., Manor House, Broomhall, Worcester. Christopher had previously been educated at Wells House, Malvern Wells and Felsted for half a term. He left Kings School from Form V5 in July 1935. (University)

Christopher Derek Whitehead, occupation: F/Sgt R.A.F., resident The Manor, Broomhall, Worcester, died at Kinloss, Morayshire. He was buried in consecrated ground in Astwood Cemetery on 1st June 1942, aged 25 years. The ceremony was performed by the Reverend * Brandon.

A letter from Christopher Whitehead’s wife, Manor House, Broomhall, Worcester dated 25th March 1952 can be found within war records held at Worcestershire Archives requesting that his name be added to the county roll of honour. The letter states that Flight Sergeant Christopher Derek Ainley Whitehead, RAFVR was killed on active service on 26th May 1942.
