Walter Webb was born on 21st May 1896 in West Bromwich, Staffordshire. He married Elsie Bartrip on 23rd April 1918 in Worcester and the couple set up home at 8 Powick Lane, Bank Street, Worcester. Walter enlisted in the Royal Air Force on 30th September 1918 when he gave his age as 22 and his occupation as a Turner. He was 5 feet 7½ inches tall with brown hair, brown eyes and a fresh complexion. Walter died on 23rd October 1918, Elsie gave birth to their daughter, Barbara Webb in the March Quarter 1919 in Worcester.
Walter Webb, occupation: air mechanic, resident Powick Lane, St Andrews, died in the Military Hospital, Belfast. He was buried in consecrated ground in Astwood Cemetery on 26th June 1918, aged 22 years. The ceremony was performed by the Reverend C. Price.
