Our parish will never forget the devotion of these three young men, Albert Holyfield, Arthur Winnett and Frank Warren who have already given up their lives for the sake of their country. May they rest in peace and find mercy on the Great Day.
Sedgeberrow Parish Magazine November 1916:
Proposed War Memorial
Almost every parish in England is probably erecting a memorial in honour of its brave men who have fallen in the war. We have lost seven such already, they are the following,
Frank Warren
Albert Holyfield
Charles Box
Arthur Winnett
Eustace Bosefield
Thomas Price
Herbert Greening
And there is no doubt that our parish will be anxious that their brave deeds may never be forgotten amongst us. It is possible of course, also, that others may be added to this noble list of those who have given their lives for us.
Sedgeberrow Parish Magazine November 1918
We greatly regret that we have to announce the deaths of four of our boys since the last notice namely, Albert Vale, Charles White, Frank Farley and Charles Jackson, of whom their parents and friends may well be proud. We deeply sympathise with these in the loss they have sustained. Our parish has now lost thirteen, who have all fallen in the service of their country. R.I.P.
The following is a complete list of all those who have fallen, and we hope that many will remember them in their prayers in church week by week, that they may rest in peace.
Frank Warren
Arthur Winnett
Albert Holyfield
Thomas Price
Eustace Bousfield
Charles Box
Bertram Warner
Harry Holmes
Eric Baumgarte
Albert Vale
Charles White
Frank Farley
Charles Jackson
The letters R.I.P. are the initials of three Latin words “Requescat in Pace.” Which means “May they rest in peace.”
Frank Warren has no known grave, the photograph available shows his name on Ypres Menin Gate Memorial.
