Bromsgrove, Droitwich and Redditch Messenger, 23rd November 1918:
On Tuesday, Mr Thomas Wallace, Red Cross Cottage, Bromsgrove received a telegram stating that his son Driver Thomas Wallace, A.S.C., died of influenza on November 10th at the 48th Casualty Clearing Station, France. It had been previously notified that he had influenza and a letter from the sister in charge of the hospital stated that pneumonia supervened. Deceased was 21 years of age in August last and had been in the army since October 1914. In the spring of 1915 he went on active service in France and had been there ever since. He was previously employed by Mr Webb of Red Cross Farm, in delivering milk. Two brothers are serving in the R.G.A. and the R.E. respectively.
