Further Information About TOMKINSON Christopher Charles
HMS Victorious was an aircraft carrier built by Victors-Armstrong and launched on 14th September 1939 by Lady Inskip, wife of a defence minister. On 26th March 1945 she was deployed with other aircraft carriers to take part in Operation Iceberg I to neutralise airfields in the Sakashima Gunto Group. Christopher Tomkinson was posted missing, presumed killed sometime during air operations on 26th March.

Young, Astley, Stourport dated 10th May 1950 can be found within war records held at Worcestershire Archives requesting that Lieutenant Commander Christopher Charles Tomkinson, D.S.C, ‘A’ Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, Victorious Squadron 1836 be added to the county roll of honour.
