A letter from the Reverend W.A. Trippass, St Nicholas, Droitwich dated 23rd May 1950 can be found within war records held at Worcestershire Archives requesting that Sidney Ivor Taylor be added to the county roll of honour.
The following information has been researched and transcribed by Peter Kennedy:
Sidney was educated at St Peters School Droitwich. When the war started, he was working at W.H. Smith in Droitwich. He was taken prisoner by the Japanese in the Dutch East Indies (Java). For 2 years nothing was heard of him. His family then received a message stating that he was in good health and spirits. There are no details as to the cause of his death.
