Derek Steward was born on 25th May 1920. He entered Form L4, Kings School in September 1932. At the time of his admission to the school his parent is recorded as F.L.S., Highfield, Danescourt Rd., Tettenhall, Staffordshire. Derek had previously been educated at Tettenhall College (Secondary). He left Kings School from Form VI in July 1938. Herford College, Oxford.
