Further Information About SMOUT Alfred
There is no record of an Alfred Smout as a casualty on Commonwealth War Graves Commission or Soldiers Died in the Great War.
An Alfred Smout was born in Webheath in 1872 and later resided with his wife, Ellen, at Feckenham. The couple had 11 children including 2 sons named Alfred (born 1889, died 1969 in Bromsgrove) and John (Jack) (born in 1893 in Tardebigge) who was killed in action in 1915 and is commemorated on the war memorial at St Philip, Webheath. Alfred senior died in 1944 in Bromsgrove.
I suspect that the first name, Alfred, may be incorrect and that this casualty is most likely Jack Smout.
