The 1911 Census records that Walter Sidney Smith, aged 16, and born in Powick, was living at Bakery Buildings, Kempsey, with his widowed mother Mary Jewell Smith originally from Bishops Cleeve, Gloucestershire, and brothers Charles James Smith 25, born in Manchester, and Leonard Court Smith 20, also born in Powick.
