Educated at Malvern College. Emigrated to Canada in 1904.
Edgar Silcox was born in 1881. He attended Malvern College in House 2 from September 1897 to 1899.
Edgar Silcox enlisted in the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force on 24th October 1914 at Port Arthur, Ontario, Canada. On his attestation form he gave his date of birth as 20th July 1872 at Jhelum Punjab, his occupation as a Clerk and his next of kin as James Greer Silcox, Warwick Park, Tunbridge Wells, England. Edgar was 5 feet 4 inches tall with grey eyes, dark hair and a dark complexion. It is not known when he left Canada to sail to England but he embarked at Southampton bound for France on 23rd February 1915, joining his regiment in the field on 1st March 1915. Edgar Silcox was killed in action on 8th May 1915.
