Further Information About ROGERS Bertie

Bertie Rogers was one of 4 brothers who served during the Great War.  His father was killed near Leicester whilst working for the railways in 1896.  His mother, Mary Jane Rogers, moved to Crowle with the 5 children.  Bertie enlisted in the Worcestershire Regiments at Norton Barracks, Worcester on 5th September 1914.  After training in Plymouth, he was posted to France in 1915 and was killed in action later that year.  He was the second resident of Crowle to die in the war.
