The following information has been researched by Geoff Hill:
1911 Census
8 Wakeman Street, Barbourne
Henry Roberts, aged 18, leather polisher
At the same address: William (father), iron moulder, mother, 1 brother, 1 sister.

The 2nd/8th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment was engaged in the Third Battles of Ypres (Battle of Passchendaele), which opened on the 31st July 1917. On the 18th August 1917 the battalion had moved up in readiness for an attack on German pillbox near Somme Farm on the 20th August. In view of the fact that Harry Roberts died of wounds in hospital on that day it is very likely that he had been injured in an earlier engagement, but where or when is not known.
