Linthurst Man Killed
Mrs Jane Richards of The Linthurst has received official news that her son Private Hubert Richards, Worcestershire Regiment, was killed in action on the 17 July last. He was 21 years of age in June and joined the Colours last January. At the time of his death he had been at the Front rather more than a month. Before the war he worked at the Linthurst Brickyard. Five minutes before his death he was speaking to his Brother in Law, Private Eli Perry (Strand, Bromsgrove) of the same battalion.
Hubert Richards has no known grave, the photograph available shows his name on Thiepval Memorial.
