Bromsgrove Weekly Messenger, 6th January 1917:
Private Harry Read, Worcestershire Regiment, resident Fairfield. Killed in action on 15th December 1916. Son of Mr and Mrs Arthur Thomas Read. He enlisted on 27th January 1916 and was drafted to the front on 12th May. Before joining the army he was employed by Mr Grant, builder of Kings Norton. A brother is with the colours. The report includes a photograph of Private Harry Read.
