Frank Ralph was born on 13th February 1891 at Feckenham, Worcestershire. He enlisted in the army on 1st December 1915 when he was posted to the Army Reserve. He was called up on 25th September 1916, joining the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve as an Ordinary Seaman on the same date when he gave his next of kin as his wife Kate and his father Frederick, Bredon Cottage, Evesham Road, Hunt End, Crabbs Cross near Redditch and his occupation as a Milling Machinist. Frank was 5 feet 11¾ inches tall with a fresh complexion, dark brown hair and blue eyes. He was appointed Able Bodied Seaman on 16th December 1916. Frank was initially reported as Missing in Action on 25th March 1918. It was not until 11th November 1918 that he was concluded to have been killed in action on that date.
