The following report appears in the Bromsgrove Weekly Messenger, 17th March 1917:
Private Arthur Purchase of Belbroughton, Worcestershire Regiment. Mrs M.A. Purchase, widow, Hartle Lane, Belbroughton heard that her son was dangerously ill at a casualty clearing station in France.  A letter from Rev. J. Parker, C.E., Chaplain, has confirmed that he has died of wounds.  He was called-up in January 1916 and joined the Worcesters.  His good conduct and obliging manner made him a favourite.  Age 20.  The report includes a photograph of Private Arthur Purchase.
