William Price was born in Worcester in 1885, the son of William and Charlotte (possibly nee Curtis). The family lived in Fish Street in 1901 and 16 year old William and his father were employed as iron moulders. In 1910 William married Mary Knott in Worcester and the couple started married life as boarders with Mary’s aunt, Mary Ann Knott, at 12 Rainbow Hill Parade, Worcester. The couple had at least two children, William G. Price born in 1911 and Gertrude F. Price born in 1914. In 1915 William enlisted in the Worcestershire Regiment and on 12th July 1915 he was sent to the Balkans to take part in the Gallipoli campaign. He was killed in action on 6th August 1915.

William Price has no known grave, the photograph available shows his name on the Worcestershire Regiment Panel on Helles Memorial.
