Frederick Parker lived with his parents, Edward and Sarah Parker, at 143 Bridgnorth Road, Wollaston. He enlisted originally in the Medical Corps but transferred to the Royal Field Artillery to become a driver for a Divisional Ammunition Column. He took part in the last stage of the Advance to Victory and died within three weeks of the end of the Great War. From the 29th September the British Third Army broke German resistance on the Hindenburg Line, captured the city of Cambrai and defeated the Germans in the Battle of the Selle. It was in this battle that Driver Frederick Parker was killed.
