Rudolph Pardoe was the husband of Beatrice Pardoe, 3 Court, 2 High Street, Stourport and the son of Sergeant-Instructor G. H. Pardoe. Before enlistment he was employed at Messrs. Brintons Limited and was a well known member of St. John’s Institute. He was killed during an attack on the enemy trenches.

On 25th April the 1st/7th Worcesters captured Gillemont and held it against a storm of fire and several counter-attacks. The action cost 14 killed, 90 wounded and 29 missing.
