PACE Arthur Edward

FATAL MOTOR CYCLE ACCIDENT – EVESHAM PARENTS BEREAVED
Notification was received on Monday by Mr. and Mrs. C.S. Pace, of 202 Cheltenham-road, Evesham, that their eldest son, Aircraftman Arthur Edward Pace, had been killed in a motorcycling accident the previous evening. Aircraftman Pace, who was 25, had been in the Royal Air Force for 18 months, and up to the time of his death had been training as a wireless instructor.
Aircraftman Pace was returning to his aerodrome on Sunday evening when his motor-cycle was in collision with three other Aircraftmen; Mr. Pace and one of the pedestrians were killed outright. Mr. Pace, who for the past four years had been employed as an electrician at Hereford, was well known in Evesham where before leaving the town, he played for several seasons for Evesham Water Polo Team. On leaving Merstow Green School, he served an apprenticeship at Messrs. S.C. Averill and Sons, High-street. He was married four years ago to Miss Lewis of Hereford, to whom, together with his parents and two younger brothers, is extended deep sympathy in their loss. The funeral will take place at Evesham Cemetery today (Friday) at 2.15p.m.

(Alfred was the son of Charles Sydney and Constance May Pace (nee White) who were married in 1913. Alfred Edward married Lilian C.I. Lewis in 1936.)
