Horace New was born at Evesham in 1881. There appear to be no official records recording a second name for Horace. However, the marriage of Horace H. New to Amelia Riley is recorded in the September Quarter 1913 under the Stow-on-W Registration District. Worcestershire monumental inscriptions record Horace Hartland New, Gunner R.F.A., on a gravestone in Bengeworth Cemetery. In the June Quarter 1927 Amelia New married George Clements in Evesham.
A photograph of Gunner H.H. New of Evesham can be found in Berrow’s Worcester Journal Supplement, Saturday 17th November 1917, available at Worcestershire Archives.
