Further Information About MUCKLOW Frederick Owen
Appears on the Army casualties list for Worcestershire.
Frederick Mucklow attended Worcester Royal Grammar School from 1930 to 1934. In August 1944 the Allied Armies were finally forcing the German Army into retreat after initial stiff resistance. The German forces were being squeezed into what became known as the ‘Falaise Pocket’ whilst the Allied Armies made fierce efforts to surround them. Whilst many German troops managed to escape, severe casualties were suffered. Frederick Mucklow was killed in action during an attack on the Mont de Vigne, Mezidon, a small town around 15 kilometres South East of Caen in Normandy.
