Private E. Morris 1st/1st Worcester Yeomanry, embarked at Avonmouth 9th April 1915 for service with the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force, disembarked at Alexandria, Egypt on 24th April 1915. Died at Afion Kara Hissar 15th July 1916, Prisoner of War.

Ernest Morris was born at Tardebigge in 1889, the son of Thomas and Sarah Morris. Thomas was a carpenter and the couple had 6 children:-

Mr and Mrs Morris, of Bentley, have received information to the effect that their son Private Ernest Morris of the Worcestershire Yeomanry, died a prisoner of war in Turkey, between the 9th and 15th July 1916. Private Morris was 27 years of age. Much sympathy is felt for his parents and the neighbourhood.
