There is no record of this casualty on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission or Soldiers Died in the Great War. There is a birth registration for a Charles F. Morris in the September Quarter 1866 under the Bromsgrove Registration District which covers the Clent district. In 1871 and 1881 he was resident with his parents Edward and Sarah Morris in Clent.
On 12th June 1888 Charles Frederick Morris enlisted in the Royal Artillery at Birmingham. On his attestation form he gave his place of birth as Clent, Worcestershire, his age as 21 years 9 months and his occupation as a Labourer. He was 5 feet 6½ inches tall with a fresh complexion, bluish eyes and brown hair. He gave his next of kin as his father, Edward Morris, of Clent near Stourbridge, Worcestershire. On the 13th August 1888 he was discharged from the army at Seaforth near Liverpool on payment of £10.00.
By 1911 Charles Morris had been married to Mary for 22 years and the couple had produced 10 children, 7 of whom were still living. They were resident at 22 York Road, Kings Heath
