Stephen Moore was born in 1880. He attended Malvern College in House 4 from 1895 to 1899.

Stephen Moore enlisted in the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force on 9th November 1914 at Vancouver, Canada. On his attestation form he gave his date of birth as 1880 at Stratford on Avon, his occupation as a Secretary and his next of kin as his brother Charles, Old Cottage, Merrow, Guildford, England. He had 3 years previous military experience serving with the Oxford University Volunteers. Stephen was 5 feet 6½ inches tall with brown eyes, black hair and a dark complexion.

He sailed from Canada with his unit on 20th May 1915 bound for England. He left England on 17th September 1915, landing at Boulogne, France on 18th September 1915. On 7th April 1916 Stephen Moore was admitted to No 8 Stationary Hospital, Wimereux, France with gunshot wounds to right and left thighs with a compound fracture. He died of his wounds on 31st May 1916.

Died of Wounds – No 8 Stationary Hospital, Wimereux (G.S.W. R & L Thighs Comp Frac). Buried in Wimereux Communal Cemetery, Plot I. Row N. Grave 841.
