Edward Meese was the son of Mr and Mrs Meese, 9, St. John’s Road, Newtown, Stourport.  He enlisted on 24th September 1914.  Formerly employed at Messrs. Worths, Stourport, but at the outbreak of war he was employed at the Welsh Tinplate & Stamping Co., Ltd., Llanelly.  Edward suffered from frostbite in France during the winter of 1915.  He had only been in Mesopotamia a short time when he died from disease.
