Further Information About MATHER Harry Ralph

Harry Ralph, son of Harry Sneyd and Caroline Louise Mather, was baptised on the 7th November 1886 at Longford Parish Church by his father who was rector of the parish.

Second Lieutenant, Royal Field Artillery. Later promoted to Lieutenant and then Captain. Entered France in 1915. Awarded the 1915 Star, the British War Medal and the Victory Medal.

The death of Harry Ralph Mather aged 50, Uganda Police, is recorded as taking place on board the ship Matiana on the 13th April 1937. His last known place of abode was Bude, Cornwall; the cause of death was general peritonitis.
