George Mather was the son of Harry Sneyd and Caroline Louise Mather and the younger brother of Harry Ralph Mather. Born on the 22nd October 1889 at Cliddesden, Hampshire, he married Edith Mary Talbot in London in 1927. Edith died in Somerset in 1972; George died in Somerset in 1979.
Second Lieutenant George Rupert Mather, King’s Shropshire Light Infantry. Later promoted to Lieutenant. Entered France in October 1916. Awarded the British War Medal and the Victory Medal.
