HMS Bluebell was a Flower Class Corvette. On 17th February 1945 she was preparing to escort a convoy from Murmansk when she was hit by a torpedo fired from the German submarine U-711. The torpedo caused Bluebell’s depth charges to explode and she sank in less than 30 seconds. Of her crew of 86 there was only one survivor.
