Frederick Lloyd was born on 23rd May 1891.  He entered the Army Reserve on 4th December 1915, was mobilised with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, Royal Naval Division on 27th July 1917, joining the 2nd Reserve Battalion on 30th July 1917 and the Drake Battalion on 3rd December 1917.  His next of kin was his uncle, Mr Thomas Lloyd, Holytree Cottage, Sherrards Green, Great Malvern.  He joined the British Expeditionary Force in France on 11th December 1917 and was reported missing on 25th March 1918. On 8th July 1918 it was recorded that he had fallen and been buried on 15th April 1918 in the Foureaux Wood.  Frederick’s his next of kin were informed on 24th April 1918 that he had been killed in action on 25th March 1918.
