Brett Linley came from Birmingham, the son of Anne and George Linley. He was awarded the George Medal (posthumously) for his heroic actions in Afghanistan. He was killed by an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) blast at Nahr-E-Saraj, Helmand Province.
