Jack Lauria was born in 1889.  He attended Bromsgrove School from 1906 to 1908 where he was in Gordon House.  He came to the School rather late but rapidly attained prominence as a gymnast and was the representative at Aldershot in 1908.  At Oxford (Keble) he was in the University Gymnastic VIII.  At the outbreak of the war, Lauria was in America where he was gaining a varied experience with the intention later of taking Holy Orders.  He returned home as soon as possible and was given a commission.  Son of the late DR W.B. Lauria and step son of the Rev W J Roxburgh.  The exact circumstances of his death are unknown but he died of wounds on 18th June 1916.
