Mehdi Khan was born in 1921. He attended Malvern College from 1933 to 1934.
During the Second World War 86 Squadron served with Coastal Command, moving to St Eval in Cornwall in early 1942. On 2nd February 1942, Mehdi Khan was flying Beaufort serial no AW253 on an anti-shipping mission when the aircraft was hit by anti-aircraft fire and crashed into the sea off the coast of France with the loss of all crew.
