Daniel Kettle was born at Bromsgrove in 1883.  He was a pre-war soldier who was in the military in 1911.  He enlisted at Bromsgrove and went to France on 12th August 1914.

Bromsgrove, Droitwich and Redditch Messenger, 14th November 1914:
Mrs D Kettle of Worcester Street, Bromsgrove received a notification this week that his son, Sergeant D Kettle of the Worcestershire Regiment was killed in action on October 13th.  Mr Kettle also lost a son in the South African War, Private Alfred Kettle of the 1st Worcesters, who was killed at Wakkerstrom on April 21st 1901.
