Cecil Jones was born in Twyning, Gloucestershire in 1897.  In 1911, aged 13, he was living with his parents George and Ellen Jones and his 2 younger brothers at Church End, Bushley.

The following information has been researched by Andy Frisby:
Private Cecil George Jones served first as Private 783, West Somerset Yeomanry and subsequently as Private 49594, Machine-Gun Corps.  He went to the Balkans on 9th October 1915.  Cecil died in Birmingham in 1974, aged 76.
