Birmingham Daily Post, Saturday 30th January 1915:
Redditch Soldier Killed
News has been received by his relatives of the death from wounds on December 18, at Baillerd, France, of Pte. A. G. Johnys of the Middlesex Regiment, who formerly lived at Worcester Road, Redditch. Deceased who was thirty-nine years of age, served fifteen years in the army. For eleven years he served in India. He leaves a widow and three children.

Awarded the British War Medal and Victory Medal.

Arthur George Johnys aged 35, married Edith Evelyn Baylis, aged 25 at St Saviours Church, Battersea, London, on 16th September 1911. His father was James Johnys, deceased and Edith’s father was Alfred Baylis. On the 1891 census Arthur George Johnys born in Bethnal Green, aged 15, lived with his parents James and Ameilia and his sister in Bethnal Green.
