The following information is courtesy and copyright of Jennifer Kokany, great niece of Alwyne and Archibald Jewkes:
Alwyne and his brother Archibald were both killed on the same day in 1916 whilst serving with the Queen’s Own Worcestershire Hussars. Previously they had been at Suvla Bay, Gallipoli in 1915 before being sent to the area near Romani, east of Suez. My father who was born that same year was named Archibald Alwyne in memory of the brothers he would never know.
