Capt. Hugh Acton Jefferies, The Royal Irish Fusiliers, who is reported killed in action, was in his 24th year. He was the only child of Lieutenant-Colonel H. St. J. and Mrs Jefferies of Napleton Grange, Kempsey, Worcester, and entered the Army in 1936.
A letter from the Reverend H.W. Glasgow, Kempsey Vicarage, dated 17th May 1950 can be found within war records held at Worcestershire Archives requesting that Wing Captain Hugh Acton Jefferies, Royal Irish Fusiliers, be added to the county roll of honour.
