Further Information About JASPER Harry

Harry Jasper attended Wollescote school.  He was an iron-plate worker and he enlisted in the Worcesters in May 1915.  After his training he was sent to join the 9th Battalion in Mesopotamia.  He had only been there a short time when the long planned advance up the Tigris to Kut was started.  The Worcesters attacked at Amara over terrain without cover on the 25th January and suffered heavy casualties.  One of the many who died was Private Harry Jasper.
