Found on Ancestry: a copy of a telegram to his mother, Sarah Jackson, informing her that Dennis had been shot and was dangerously ill in hospital at No 4 Canadian General Hospital in Aldershot. She was to obtain a travel warrant to visit him if she desired. It is believed that by the time she arrived at the hospital, Dennis had already died.
