Further Information About HUNT Robert Lancelot Gibbs

Robert Hunt was born in 1895. He attended Bromsgrove School from 1909 to 1912. When the war broke out Hunt who had proceeded to Lincoln College, Oxford was serving his articles with his father, Mr F. Hunt, Solicitor of Banbury. He was gazetted 2nd Lieutenant September 1914, promoted Lieutenant February 1915 and Captain August 1916. His regiment went to the Front in July 1915 and was stationed throughout the winter principally in the Ypres salient. In April 1916 he was badly wounded near the heart but recovered and was able to return to France. There, after 5 weeks further service he fell, while leading his company to the attack.
