A letter from H.J. Winnington, Honorary Secretary of PCC, St James Church, Wollaston dated 17th December 1950 can be found within war records held at Worcestershire Archives requesting that Thomas H. Hill be added to the county roll of honour.

The following information has been researched by The Black Country Society:
Thomas Hill was the son of James and Sarah Hill of Wollaston and by 1941 he was married to Bertha. He served with the Royal Artillery and in the 153rd Battery, 51st Light AA Regiment. This was sent to the Support Group of the newly formed 6th Armoured Division which spent the period from 1940 under training in Great Britain. Gunner Thomas Hill died in an accident and was brought home to Wollaston for burial.
