Robert Hicks was born in 1920. He attended Malvern College in House 8 from 1935 to 1939.

Robert Hicks was a crew member on board Bristol Beaufort N1147 which failed to return from a mission attacking shipping off the coast of France. The aircraft had scored a direct hit on a ship and was immediately attacked by 2 ME 109 aircraft.
