Further Information About HEMINGWAY Kenneth Stanley
Kenneth Stanley Hemingway was educated at Hereford Cathedral School where he was head of his house and was also a sergeant in the OTC. He was a fine athlete and received his colours in cricket, football and rowing. In January 1915 he was gazetted to the Territorial Force and then to the Worcestershire Regiment in September 1916. Kenneth died whilst commanding a Company at the end of the first day of the German Offensive. The 10th Battalion was engaged in a counter-attack during the evening of the 21st March in an effort to retake Doignies. The Battalion lost 5 officers and 35 other ranks were killed.
